How To Find a Niche Market

The first step you need to take is to find a niche topic to market to. So what's a niche topic, or niche market?

For our purposes, a niche market is a group of people who are all searching on the internet for a solution to a specific problem, but not finding many useful results.

Simply put, a niche market is the foundation of a successful internet business. If you base your business on a strong niche market, then your business will thrive. If you don't... well, there's no guarantee your business will ever make a penny.

Step #1: Brainstorming Niche Topics

Deciding what to sell is the most crucial aspect to determining just how successful your new online venture will be. Most people go about this process entirely wrong. Most people, including myself when I first began marketing online, would try and think of something that we're interested in... which in and of itself is not a bad thing.

Then they'll create a product based on something that they find interesting. For example, let's say this person absolutely loves to play cricket. Don't ask me where that came from... Because of this, they end up writing an eBook teaching people tips and strategies on how to become a better cricket player.

It takes them about a month to write the eBook. They finish the eBook, create their website, and now it's time to sell their product. A couple weeks go by and nobody's buying their eBook. They work really hard and search around the web to figure out how and where to sell this cricket eBook. A couple more weeks go by and, still, not a single person has purchased their eBook.

The eBook's very well written and contains the best tips in the world, when it comes to teaching you how to become an expert cricket player. Why on earth has nobody purchased their eBook? I'll tell you why... The reason is because nobody else is interested in becoming a better cricket player.

This is very important. NEVER create a product and find people to sell your product to. ALWAYS find people to sell to... and THEN create the product that solves a specific problem or fills a need that these people have. Make sense? It sounds simple, but it's something that so few people truly grasp.

If you learn anything in this course, I want you to learn to t make this mistake. Spending hours upon hours creating an information product, only to find out that nobody wants it, is not only an incredible waste of time and energy, but it's definitely an esteem crusher. Most people just give up once their first product fails... and it only fails because they've gone about the product creation process backwards like I explained above.

Don't think that you'll be different and just assume your product will sell, because chances are, it won't if you do things backwards. Research first. Create the product second. Got it?

I'd like to give you some specific examples of products that failed because the creators did things backwards, but guess what?

I don't know of any because the products failed. (i.e. failed = Nobody knows about them) So... just take my word for it. You'll be glad you did.

In this chapter I'm going to be teaching you how to brainstorm and come up with as many topics as you can think of. By the end of this chapter you should have a list of product ideas. The idea here isn't necessarily to find where your "buyers" hang out, or how you'll sell your product. The idea is to simply come up with a list of possible topics for your information product that you will be creating.
